Disney Trip part 2

As I was reading Disney Vacation Part 1 I noticed some errors and fixed them. Just letting you know....I know how to spell lol I also noticed I would go off ranting and not really going in chronological order so please bare with me. i get so excited talking about disney that I jump from place to place.

When we arrived at disney world we had only 3 days to enjoy Food and Wine because the last day was Monday and we landed on saturday. We planned to visit Epcot the days they were open and hope over to magic kingdom at night. My favorite dessert was the frozen smores. OMG, those were amazing. I had about 3. I wasn't too impressed with france. We literally gave our escargot away. I think i expected to much out of the booths. Don't get me wrong, it was good...just not THAT good. Of course everybody has their opinions so please don't get offended if you've been to the event.

On Monday we went to Hollywood Studios because we knew that epcot would be super packed that day. Hollywood studios is my second favorite theme park. Tower of terror was awesome! A little bit different from California Adventure. It was much more suspenseful and I felt like I was going to have a heart attack lol We got some shirts from the shop outside and wore them the whole day. I really enjoyed the art of animation. My boyfriend wasn't very good at it so he didn't want to repeat it too many times. Its a hidden gem though. Apparently not too many people know about it but it is a great experience =D

We really wanted to eat at the restaurants there but they were all booked up! we could not get a seat so make sure you reserve way in advance. We didn't let that stop us from enjoying the park though. We had an absolute blast. Their raspberry lemonade and chocolate croissant were my favorite snacks there. We went on the aerosmith roller coaster but it wasn't our cup of tea. We enjoyed it but out of our whole trip we only went  on it once.  We went to fantasmic and I was looking forward to it because it is my favorite show at disneyland. The experience again was different. At hollywood studios they have a place to do it while in disneyland they have to block part of the park so people can sit on the ground. It was really windy that night and of course we sat up front. We got absolutely soaked and people started to leave. It was the first time for my boyfriend and I was so sad that he didn't have a great experience. Since the projections are against the water and the wind was blowing like crazy everything looked distorted. I was surprised they didn't cancel the show. I was hoping we could see it again but we weren't going back until thursday morning and leaving in the afternoon for our mickeys very merry christmas party. I believe magic kingdom had magic hours that night so we hopped over and ate like fatties. Very first time eating a turkey leg even though I was stuffed. It was just too good.

I remembered over feeding myself because that night I got sick. We planned magic hours at animal kingdom the next morning which is why I remember. Animal kingdom was amazing!! i was told that its unusually hotter there than the other parks but that day there was an overcast and it was coldest day out of the week! we went on the primeval whirl so many times. It's one my favorite memories because there wasn't a line so when we hopped off we went right back on. After that we headed to expedition everest. we had fast passes but we didn't use them until a line started forming. One of my favorite rides at disney world. We then went on the safari ride. Absolutely breathtaking. It was so amazing I would recommend everybody doing it at least once. After that we were hungry! Stuffed our faces again and watched the Lion King while our food was settling down. We got a fast pass for that since we weren't using our Kali River tickets. It was just too cold the get wet. I was pretty bummed about that since that was the only day we were at animal kingdom. We headed to magic kingdom after that. Went on splash mountain a bunch of times. It's Trey's favorite ride at that park. I like space mountain but there was something different about it magic kingdom. I believe we had reservations at beasts castle that day. You have to try it out! The decor is beautiful. =D

off to sleep. Ill add more when i get a chance. See Ya Real Soon

Disney Merch

I recently discovered that Hot Topic sells Disney Merchandise. If you're like ...Allison, you must live under a rock. I live in the country =p takes me an hour and a half to get to a mall. Ever since this discovery I am more than happy to drive that in order to buy stuff!

When I go to a store I don't know how we get to the topic of disney buy it always happens. They know they can tell that I am a disney customer. So what do they do? just shove all these merchandise with mickey on it at my face! Of course, I am more than happy to take it but I'm on a budget! First time I went to the store I got some pins and a bow. What always makes me laugh is that when I pay..i have to take out my wallet which is....STITCH..then take out my card..and its a disney debit card lol Thats when they laugh at me and know I am seriously into disney.

(don't have a pic of the bow)

My second trip there I bought a stitch watch and a stitch wallet/phone case

I don't know what came over me but stitch just looks so damn cute! I just wanted stitch stuff.. On my third trip they remembered me and went back on looking for a stitch beanie lol
I was online and started searching for cool merchandise. It wasn't till recently that i became comfortable wearing book/disney stuff. I was always afraid of people judging me but now I'm like whatevers. I am happy. So i got a gryffindor beanie, stitch scarf, belle funk pop to add to my collection, and some hogwarts pants. Everything was buy1 get 1 half off. Not only that...I went to barnes and noble right after and got myself some books! booya!! spluuuurge.

lol

Pimping my gryffindor hat

Oh oh..and btw..there are some disney headphones being sold at kohl's..

Found these hidden behind a bunch of minnie headphones. Bet someone was hiding them but I found it! last of the jack skellington at the store. lol

I am one happy disney addict.

Disney Headphones

With all the blogging i'v been doing ( If you didn't know, i have 3 other blogs) I am constantly listening to music. I don't like using my earphones because my ears feel sore after awhile and my desk is located in the living room. I live with 2 other people and they might not like the same music as I do. I know this because they raise their tv volume trying to drown my music out -_-

I work at a store and they used to have disney headphones but they were all stolen!! i was pretty mad because I really wanted a pair. That was a couple of months ago and then I found them again at kohl's! They had minnie mouse which I tried on and was about to get them but I really wanted mickey mouse which I don't even know if they make but I was pulling all the headphones out the shelves. Way in the back corner I found Jack Skellington!! Jackpot. Someone was probably hiding it because that was the last one. The rest were Tinker Bell, Minnie Mouse, TMNT, and the marvel characters. I was so excited. I just had to let you disney lovers know that these....are available =D

BTW disney vacation part 2 will be up soon.

Disney Overload

As you can tell from my previous posts, there are a lot of things to think about when going to Disney World. Just remember, have fun with it! Do not get stressed out. I planned everything and you know what, when I got there we kind of just went with the flow. I expected it to be packed but the lines were so short that we got things done much faster. We kept park hopping and just went on whatever we loved.

This was around the time they were testing out magic bands and we were lucky enough to have them. The cool part was that we can reserve fast passes months ahead of time. Since the lines were short we were able to use the disney app to change our reservations for rides that had slightly longer waits or just set them ahead of time at another part we would be going to. it saved us a lot of time. I was very surprised by how many rides we went on in such little time. I even wanted to go to the resort early!

We would go to every magic hours offered because that was the best time to hop onto your favorite rides. We went on one rides 5 times in a row that is still one of my favorite memories. I unfortunately only went to Animal Kingdom once. I wish we had gone more often.

We went to Epcot for their magic hours hoping to get a head start on the booths buuuuuuut, only one half of Epcot was open. We literally sat around for while because we rode the rides so many times. We also booked another tour that my boyfriend absolutely loved. He likes learning about futuristic or using technology to make the world a better place. Disney has a Behind the Seeds tour that I found interesting but my boyfriend was enthralled.

So as you can see, we didn't really go with our schedule. As much as you plan you'll probably either get tired, do everything too soon, or a line was too long. Leave some wiggle room =D

Have fun!

My favorite ride picture

We are in the front row. Can you guess what pose we are doing?
Hint- its from a disney movie lol

My Disney World Vacation part 1

If you have been following along then you know that I love love LOVE disney. I used to live 30 minutes away from disneyland, I lived in BURBANK,CA. Yes, the headquarters of the disney company. Why did I move? I don't know, i'm crazy obviously. I was missing disney so much and I have never been to Disney World. My boyfriend and I would talk about it but never set a date. Once we did, it became real. I was on the computer non stop. I would post questions on trip advisor. I would look up disney articles and start following disney pages on Facebook. This was our first vacation so it was a big deal. I wanted it to be perfect. I heard that you need to have at least 2 days in epcot, 2 days at magic kingdom, and 1 day for hollywood studios and animal kingdom. I had also heard magic kingdom is a lot like Disneyland.

We began looking up flights once we set our dates. We chose Pop Century, king bed, preferred room. We wanted to make the most of our time since it is precious. Preferred rooms were closer to the bus and I knew I would want to be at the parks the whole day and trust me by the end of the day you do not want to a lot just to get to your room. The money was worth it. My boyfriend was fascinated by the shower because it had a seat and he HAS to has his shower every night. That seat became our best friend because we could just relax and sit under that stream of hot water.

We also had every day planned out to the T. I knew which park we would be at each day. I made the ride reservations, and also our tours. We chose the aqua sea tour because I love everything about the ocean so having a private lesson and swimming with tropical fish and turtle seemed like an awesome experience and it was! I had a lot of trouble with the scuba gear but once I got the hang of it, it was amazing. For each tour there were 6 people who could participate. We met a couple who were cast members and they gave us Toy Story Mania Fast passes! omg! they made our day. We weren't planning to go to Hollywood Studios soon but we  couldn't waste those fast passes. We rearranged our next day and that was the best last minute decision I ever made. While we were at the park we saw Beauty and the Beast which was pretty cool. I thought it would be lame but I found myself singing along. Tower of Terror was a must since my boyfriend just loved it. It's his favorite ride. We went on Toy Story mania 3 times in a row. Our arms were so sore. By the way American Idol show is entertaining. It was lame in a funny way because of the actors that play the judges.

We booked Mickey Very Merry Christmas Party the night before we left as a going out with a bam.  So the trip begins.

I could not sleep the night before our flight. I stayed up making sure we had everything we needed. By the time we landed in Orlando I just wanted to go to the parks but we had to wait in the magical express line and then go to our resort THEN to the parks. There was a slight delay at the resort but I don't want to get into it. I was not happy with their service but whatever. I was at DISNEY WORLD.
We then hit Epcot for the Food and Wine Festival. They were going to be there for 3 days while we were there so we didn't have much time to stuff our faces. We made a list of foods that we wanted to try from each cart since we were on a budget of 100 dollars per day for food. Which was more than enough. We would roll over the money if we had some left over. We had so much fun there and it was very romantic on the boat ride during sun set. We were eating our desserts and enjoying the view. It was incredible. After that we hopped on over to Magic Kingdom and went on a couple of rides. Boy was I ready to hit the sack. Luckily, I had 6 more days to make magical memories. We went to the room and got some beauty sleep for the next day. Bright and early, it was going to be Epcot again to eat from the booths we missed.

Come back tomorrow for part 2!!

Disney Vacation Planning

I planned my disney trip a year in advance. I was researching like crazy. They have a lot of events through out the year and it was so hard to choose. This was the very first time I would be traveling on my own. Well technically with my boyfriend but he didn't help me plan much besides choosing what we would eat but we'll get to that later.  Always set a budget first. I didn't include it in the steps because I think its pretty obvious. You just can't go gung ho unless your rich.

First Step- Dates
When are you free to travel?
So I had to make sure that my boyfriend and I can have time off.  it was pretty simple since it was just us two and we were just working. I had taken time off school so I didn't have to worry about working around it and having to catch up with homework. So if you have a family then it will be a little tricky because the ideal vacation would be less wait time since time is  important. You don't want to take a vacation and be in line for the majority of time. Make sure to do your research on crowded times. Obviously when school is out it is the busiest and holidays as well, just make sure you plan accordingly. So find out when you can make it happen!!

Second Step- Disney Events
Disney World and Disneyland have a bunch of events during the year. Mickeys not so scary halloween party, mickeys very merry christmas party, food and wine, star wars weekends, and the flower and garden festival. I wanted to do the mickeys very merry christmas party and food and wine. Food and Wine festival is at Epcot for a good amount of time. Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party is going on while food and wine is still there. At hollywood studios they have the Osbourne lights which is absolutely breathtaking. So figure out what you want to attend.

Honestly step 1 and 2 are kind of meshed together.

Step 3 - Resort. Do you want to stay on property or off property? Of course Disney wants you to stay on their property so they give you perks. One is magic hours. Magic hours basically is extra time you can spend in the parks before it opens up to the public. It is either offered in the morning before park opens or after the park closes. I wondered how they could tell if you were staying on property once the park is technically closed but basically before you enter a ride line after hours they want to see proof of you staying in their resort. Now a days they can tell on your handy dandy Magic bands that I will be talking about later. Another perk is that if you are flying to Orlando then there is a magical express that will pick you up, take you to your resort, take your bags so they will be in your room in a couple of hours after you arrive, and when you are ready to go back home they will take you to the airport as well. Each resort has their own bus or shares a bus with another resort when it comes to dropping you off to the different theme parks. So you save money on renting a car. Of course there will be a line to go on the bus but it wasn't horrible. Again depends on the crowd levels. There are also different levels of resorts. There are value resorts which is basically the cheapest prices. It was our first time there and we knew were were only going to be in the room to sleep so we went for a value resort. Pop Century has it's own bus for theme parks so that was our best option. Moderate resorts are bit more expensive but much nicer and bigger rooms. Deluxe resorts are more on the expensive side. Of course this is all based on how much I make so for me, deluxe resorts is expensive. Then, deluxe villas which is basically top price. See what environement do you want to be in? What price do you find reasonable?

Optional Step - Dining plan
Disney offers a dining plan that is too long to explain so check this site out. But if you do end up adding this to your package then you do not have to worry about paying for food when you are there unless you are buying anything that is not on the list of whatever package you use. All depends on your appetite and what fits your schedule. Table service always has to be reserved at least 180 days in advance for the really popular restaurants. So before your 180 day mark make sure you know what park you are going to be in for each day of your vacation unless your park hopping.
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/vacation-packages/2014/dining/

Step 3- Food
There are so many options for food. We did not add the dining plan because we didn't need that much food plus we were attending the food and wine festival so we wouldn't need that many meal points. We would be stuffed snacking at each cart. We tried going to table service restaurant but they were all booked up. EVERY DAY! So make sure you reserve 180 days in advance. I'm attaching a link to my favorite source for advice and youtube videos. Absolutely love them!
http://seeyareelsoon.wix.com/seeyareelsoon

step 4- rides
Yup, now you can reserve your ride times. They used to have paper fast passes but everything is going to be electronic now. So this is where the magic bands come in. If you stay on property you each get a magic band that you will be able to personalize. It will be your room key, have all your reservations, all your dining credits, and if you want.. you can add your credit card on it. I did so I wouldn't have to carry my wallet. I planned accruing to the magic hours that were being offered while we were there. We wanted to maximize our time since it was a rare thing for us. We chose our rides according to the park we would be in. You can have 3 fast passes per day that can be reserved in advance. They just added kiosks at the park so once your passes are used up you can add one at a time after that. By the way when you choose the 3 fast passes in advance it can only be at 1 park.

There are offers through out the year. Free dining options during select dates and room discounts. Since people usually plan way in advance you never know if you are eligible for the offer. If you are flexible then you can change your dates so you can get the offer.

This is a lot of planning isn't it? Everything is planned in advance. There are disney agents out there and their services are free. They make the dining reservations for you and give you suggestions. Best spot to watch fireworks, top restaurants, and how to avoid lines.

Happy planning! =D

p.s I am sure there must be somethings I am forgetting to write about but there is just so much to think about! I'll be updating with other posts when I think of something else

Seeyareelsoon

When I started planning our first Disney World trip I was surfing the web like crazy so I wouldn't miss out on anything. I had to consider the weather, crowds, events, prices, deals, and tours that would be fun for us. Now when I say us..its me and my beau. A lot the articles I read talked about being fun for the family....well it was just us two. What would be romantic for us? What could couples do there? This was my boyfriends first time going to a Disney park and I was worried that he would think it would be too childish. I then went on youtube to find videos of couples and bumped into these 2 =D

Meet Ashley and Joe

I watched one of their videos and ended up watching all of them in one sitting. I was having a blast just watching them and started to look up their facebook page and twitter. I was really excited to find out that they post a new video every Wednesday, that is when I get my Disney fix. They are so much fun to watch!! I was so happy to find out that couples go by themselves because I thought we'd look like dorks standing in line to take a picture with characters. So if you want to go with your significant other and would like to know what you could do, watch the videos. It's really for all ages but just knowing theres a couple out there just as obsessed as I am is pretty cool. They go over the dining plan, how they plan their trips, and also answer Q&A in videos.

I posted their first video because I started on a random episode and had to start over. My favorite video though is this one

Adventure Is Out There

As you may have guessed, I am a Disney fan. I am also a very confused person who just falls in love with everything. I want to learn everything that is out there and figure out what I want in life. So a long with Disney rants there will be day to day rants and hoping that people can read these posts and give me advise or express themselves as well. So here it goes

I am a very up and down person. If I like something then I become obsessed with it, if something doesn't catch me interest I just ignore it. I can be really excited about something or blah. I love to read. I have about 3 book shelves filled and I can probably use another one. I also love movies. I might need a whole shelf just for that but for now they are just piling up where ever there is space. I also enjoy school. I really want to start again but there are certain issues that have to be resolved before that goes on. I have no idea what I want to go to school for. My parents wanted me to get a quick degree that pays well and then go for what I really want. I have decided paralegal and then go to school for an editor because I love to read. How do I combine my passion of reading with disney. The DISNEY PUBLISHING COMPANY!! That is one path but i also love coordinating events. -cough cough- hello! Disney has a bunch events and I could help coordinate them. They also have a disney internship which would help me get in the door. Network. So obviously my dream job would be imagineering but I am not one who can draw and imagine stuff. I never played pretend as a kid and I have trouble even doing it now but I could always learn right?

Do you think it's too much to move to FL just to be close to DW?
